Do You Have Something That Nobody Else Has?

In the video below, the owner of the store says something profound for anyone who wants to sell anything on the Internet.

The important thing is to set yourself apart and provide your customers with something that nobody else has.

When he decided to sell unique soda pop in his store, he had 50 kinds and everyone asked “why?” When he got up to 250 kinds, everyone asked “what else can I get?”

Making handmade products means, by definition, that they are unique. By promoting that fact, they are rare and one of a kind, the perceived value goes up and people want them.

I bought some Rose Petal Soda Pop because this guy’s store is the only place in America that you can buy it from. Is it better than anything else? I don’t know yet, but I drove 30 minutes from my house to buy it because it was the only place in America that you can get it.

I spent $90 on stuff in his store. Was it the most economical soda to buy? Um, no. What the location convenient? Um, no. Did I smile while I walked around the store? Um, yeah. I plan on reviewing every kind I bought. I love this place.

What do you have that’s unique? What do you have that no one else in America can sell? Promote that. Become “that guy” (or girl). Be the only place that… fill in the blank. Tell us in the comments what you have that’s unique.
